Overview
This page explains the cookies and similar technologies (like browser local storage) used on ridvanbilgin.com, and how you can control them. For what personal data we collect more broadly, see our Privacy Policy.
What We Use, and Why
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| rb_sid | Essential cookie | Django session identifier (staff sign-in only — not set for ordinary visitors) | Session |
| rb-consent, rb-t, rb-push-subscribed, rb-push-modal-red | Local storage, not a cookie | Remembers your cookie-banner choice, dark/light theme, and notification status on this device | Until you clear your browser data |
| _ga, _ga_* | Analytics cookie (Google Analytics 4) | Measures which stories people read, in aggregate — set only after you click “Accept all” (or by default outside the EEA/UK/Switzerland) | Up to 2 years |
| Turnstile token | Bot-protection | Confirms you're not a bot when submitting a comment or newsletter signup (Cloudflare Turnstile) | Short-lived (minutes) |
Your Choices
- Use the “Accept all” / “Reject non-essential” banner shown on your first visit.
- Change your mind at any time using your browser's own cookie and site-data controls.
- Opt out of Google Analytics entirely with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
A Note on What We Don't Do
We deliberately avoid a Django-form-based comment or newsletter flow, which would set a CSRF cookie on every page — forms here talk to the server with plain JSON requests instead. That means most pages on this site set no cookies at all until you interact with something that needs one.
